As health care and health policy for Russia is the responsibility of the central government we can say here and now how our hospital has become a very important body in the life of the whole country since the Sochi Winter Olympic games 2014. At the time of writing of this article more than 4 years later from the Olympic games 2014 we are still  very proud of the following facts:

  • Most the emergency medical services with the ambulance responsibility across the whole Olympic area that included up the hill snow arenas and tracks and down the hill ice arenas and facilities were provided by our hospital
  • We could, and we did accept around about 100 patients daily for a check-up or emergency care where overall we helped 2756 injured people
  • Amount our patients there were guests of the Olympics, sportsmen from more than 18 countries and the members of the IOC. All of them spoke very highly of our services
  • One of the outstanding and extraordinary example was when after a car crash on the road an English journalist and news reporter miraculously escaped death and was taken to our hospital with some heavy injuries of his legs, arms, the spine and the lungs. He only survived because of the most professional and quick help of our medical staff and when after the operation and some period of rehabilitation he was taken back to the UK realized what a miracle our doctors did to him.

We have become and have been the most reliable medical centre in the area that was proved to be true during the World Cup 2018 as well.
Our hospital came into existence years back and despite numerous political and organisational changes remains to date a service available universally that cares for people on the basis of need and not ability to pay, and which is funded by taxes and national insurance contributions.
Our service today comprises of the actual medical/clinical care which is mostly hospital-based care. Our medical staff are responsible for leading the care of patients. They evaluate symptoms, consider possible diagnoses, undertake examinations and tests, advise patients on treatment options and monitor the progress of treatment.  If necessary, they will refer patients onwards to a specialist doctor or other health professional for further opinion.
Among 697 medical staff there are 150 SAS doctors (SAS doctors are Staff Grade, Associate Specialist and Specialty Doctors) in our hospital. SAS doctors have at least four years postgraduate experience, two of which are in their chosen specialty. 10 of our SAS doctors have the medical degree as DM (Doctor of Medicine), the others have years of experience and research in the undertaken field.
